Don’t forget everyone, SCORE will be holding its first Fun Day Race this Saturday. This will definitely be something out of the norm for us but a lot of fun at the same time. Track will open for practice at 11am and signups will end at 12:30pm followed by a drivers meeting with a schedule of the days events. Racing will start promptly at 1pm. See you guys at the track!
Activities for the day include:
Easter Egg hunt
Parent / Child Cave Man Race
Traditional 2 quals with mains.
We will run a club race this Sunday to get in some track time before the Colonel’s Rescheduled race in February. See you Sunday
Despite the CWC being postponed, it was nice to hangout with Adam Drake this weekend! As he is on his way home, we’re trying to get ready for the weekend! This Saturday, we’ll be back to club racing starting @ 1pm. The track will definitely need some love before the weekend. There was alot of standing water on the track yesterday. The new date for the Colonel’s Winter Classic is January 31st – February 2nd. The membership drive / club elections will take place on Saturday February 8th before the start of the club race.
This weekend’s annual Colonel’s Winter Classic will be rescheduled for February 1. Will will keep everything the same, just pushed back for what we hope will be a sunny weekend of racing. Open Practice Friday, Qualifiers on Saturday, and Mains will be run on Sunday.
The weather has gone from not so bad to horrible! The forecast for Saturday is now showing 80% chance of rain Saturday and I wasn’t able to located a circus tent to rent With this new evidence, we have decided to POSTPONE the race. A new date will be determined shortly. Please pass the word and keep checking for updates.
Sweet Butt’s BBQ will be here next weekend for this years Colonel’s Winter Classic. Stanely sent over a menu for everyone to checkout. We are super excited about him being here, and can’t wait to see everyone Saturday, January 11 (and all the die hards Thursday Night)

It’s been a long time coming, but this Saturday will mark not only our first race on the new layout, but it marks the final race in 2013! Huge thanks goes out to everyone who contributed to all the work that’s been put into the track. Sign ups open at 11am and racing will start at 12noon. We will be doing final prep on the track tomorrow at 6pm. Few pipes need some stakes and some light grooming. It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve seen some of you. Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. Time to show off the new toys this Saturday! See y’all then!
“After yesterday’s meeting, we have come together to form a plan to finalize the tweeking of the new layout. For now, the track is open for play, but be advised that some of the pipe is still loose and will remain that way for the time being. You may play at your own risk. We will finish up next Saturday and then post up pics of the finished product.
Elections are coming up in February. We currently have 1 candidate for President and 1 candidate for Treasurer. As many of you are aware, I will not be seeking re-election simply because of sponsorship commitments. We’re looking for dedicated members who can really continue on the legacy of our great track. The only requires to run for office are: (1) You must have been a member for 1 year (2) You must know how to operate the timing system.
Lastly, there has been some confusion on here as far as “how many Facebook pages do we have. To be clear, we have 4: Phil Hurd Raceway, Colonel’s Winter Classic, Summer SCORCHER, and our group chat page “Phil Hurd Raceway / S.C.O.R.E.” To eliminate the confusion, the group chat page will be deleted. Facebook has done alot of updating since I created THAT page over 4 years ago. For more up to the minute updates, stay tuned to Facebook.
We wish everyone attending the Fall Brawl this weekend in Myrtle Beach the best of luck and hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Stay tuned for more updates to come!
