“After yesterday’s meeting, we have come together to form a plan to finalize the tweeking of the new layout. For now, the track is open for play, but be advised that some of the pipe is still loose and will remain that way for the time being. You may play at your own risk. We will finish up next Saturday and then post up pics of the finished product.
Elections are coming up in February. We currently have 1 candidate for President and 1 candidate for Treasurer. As many of you are aware, I will not be seeking re-election simply because of sponsorship commitments. We’re looking for dedicated members who can really continue on the legacy of our great track. The only requires to run for office are: (1) You must have been a member for 1 year (2) You must know how to operate the timing system.
Lastly, there has been some confusion on here as far as “how many Facebook pages do we have. To be clear, we have 4: Phil Hurd Raceway, Colonel’s Winter Classic, Summer SCORCHER, and our group chat page “Phil Hurd Raceway / S.C.O.R.E.” To eliminate the confusion, the group chat page will be deleted. Facebook has done alot of updating since I created THAT page over 4 years ago. For more up to the minute updates, stay tuned to Facebook.
We wish everyone attending the Fall Brawl this weekend in Myrtle Beach the best of luck and hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Stay tuned for more updates to come!

This weekend’s BBQ Reunion was a first for S.C.O.R.E. with our novice class having the most entries. In response, we have added a Kids 2WD SCT class to this years Colonel’s. Kids are the future of our track, and we want to give them every opportunity to enjoy it.
There are only 3 restrictions:
1) 2wd SCT only
2) 14 years old and under
3) Kids must drive their own trucks. No assistance from parents
Their entry fee will be $20 instead of the full $40 and the parents will be turnmarshalls just for safety. Which means whatever heat is last will turnmarshall race #2

We will be having a special BBQ Reunion Race Saturday October 26th. Racing will start @ Noon with Boston Butts being served! We invite all SCORE members past and present to come on out and enjoy the day with us, racing or just socializing. If you have any of your old gear (bodies, chassis, or even pictures) please bring them and show them off! Our goal is to get over 100 entries for a club race! If you bring a guest racer, you and your guest race for free. If you have not raced at all in 2013, your entry is also free! I will be sending out a mass email in the next day or so, but please share this to help spread the word!

With the horrible weather yesterday, Saturdays Round 2 of the Fall Series has been canceled. Some of our members will be out Saturday to work on the track and if possible get in some timed practice or a quick race. As of now, the schedule for the rest of September will be a club race on Sunday, September 15th and our Fall Series points race on the 21st.
UPDATE: We are going to get at least some racing this weekend. $5 club race Sunday at 1:00 PM. See you tomorrow.
