Spring Series Round 3

The competition has been intense, and round 3 puts us just past the halfway point in our 5 round series. The current points leaders are holding tight to their shot at the trophy, while the fight for second and third spots have made it anyone’s game.

GCS Round 3 Cancelled
UPDATE
The Georgia Championship Series has cancelled this race. It will be made up at a later date, as yet to be decided. We will be sure to post any updates regarding the rescheduled race, but as of now there will be no race this weekend. We would, however, like to extend a welcome to anyone who was looking forward to this race to join us next weekend for Round 3 of our SCORE Spring Series.

Phil Hurd Raceway is proud to host round three of the 2012 Georgia Championship Series on March 31. Early registration for this race is available on RCSignup. Practice will be open from noon until 10pm on Friday, March 30th, and qualifying will start bright and early at 9:00am on Saturday, March 31.

  • Nitro Truggy
  • Nitro Sportsman Buggy
  • Electric 1/8 Buggy
  • Electric 2WD SCT 17.5
  • Electric 1/10 2WD Buggy 13.5

  • Additional Classes: $15 each

March 24, 2012 Work Party

We will be holding a work party on Saturday, March 24th beginning at 9 am. The track needs grooming for the following week’s GCS race — nothing too strenuous. We’ll be dragging the track, raking it smooth, and repacking it. We’ll probably work in a little refacing of some of the more blown-out jumps. Bring rakes if ya got ‘em! The club will provide food and beverage to anyone who shows up. See you there!

Beat the downtown crowds and come out to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day the best way we know how – RC racing!

Classes
Short Course
Novice SCT – Limited to beginner and junior drivers. 2WD Short Course vehicles only. 17.5 Brushless, 27T Brushed, or any stock RTR SCT setup. No timing boost. 7-cell NIMH or 2S LiPo batteries only.
Stock SCT – 2WD Short Course vehicles only. 17.5 Brushless, 27T Brushed, or any stock RTR SCT setup. Timing boost is permitted. 7-cell NIMH or 2S LiPo batteries only.
Open SCT – 2WD or 4WD Short Course vehicles only. Any 540 and 550 sized motors, any ESC. Timing boost permitted. 2S LiPo max.

1/8 Scale
Electric 1/8 - Any 1/8 scale electric-powered Buggy or Truggy allowed.
Nitro 1/8 – Any 1/8 scale nitro-powered Buggy or Truggy allowed.
