Track Update

No more standing water on the track, just beautiful red… soup! Now, the tractor is about to cash in its life insurance policy so we’re down to old fashioned manpower to drag and groom. The tractor can still pack, but adding the load of the drag is too risky. So, starting tomorrow, I need every racer available to come out around 6pm, grab a rake, and help finish grading the track. I was able to get the front straight covered up and Andy churned up from the last turn all the way to the entrance to Mt Phil. Tomorrow will be “grade day”, Friday will be “pack day”, then Saturday is “race day”. Let’s make it happen!

February 23, 2013 Club Race

Thanks to the beautiful weather today, we were able to reface some jumps. The track still has a few soft spots, but it’s good enough to allow cars on. Track is officially back open for practice. Also, we are planning on holding a makeup club race this Saturday, February 23rd at Noon. The following weekend, March 2nd, is our 2nd points series round. Let’s get back to racing!

UPDATE: Unfortunately, the clouds beat us to the track. This race is cancelled, but we are still on for the March 2 Spring Series race!

Track Condition Update

We want to thank everyone who got out there early before the rain came back. A few things got reshaped and cleaned up a bit, but the track is still very soft!

Presently the track is still closed to cars.

We’ll keep updating as much as possible. Thanks again to everyone!

Track Maintenance

With the wet weather we’ve had lately, the track is in rough shape. We need anyone who can make it on Saturday, February 16, 2013 to help out with getting rid of water, refacing, and general facility maintenance. You don’t even have to be a member to participate, we’ll take anyone!

The sooner we can get the track back in shape, the sooner we can get back to racing. As it is now, the track is closed for maintenance. Please do not place any vehicles on the track surface until further notice. Check here and the official Facebook page for the latest info on when the track will reopen. Until then, thank you for your help and patience!

GCS Round 1 – Cancelled

After some discussion, the GCS Round 1 race has been cancelled. The GCS crew had the following to say:

“We have been in contact with the awesome SCORE crew for the last week or so. They are extremely excited about hosting a GCS event. They are excited about showing off their hard work and dedication to our great hobby.

Unfortunately they have been hit with extremely large amounts of rain the last week or so. The track and parking area is completely saturated and unable to be gotten ready for racing. We have made the hard decision to postpone this round to a date later in the year. The new date will be announced in the next couple of weeks. We appreciate everyone understanding.

Please help spread the word to your fellow racer.”

We look forward to our chance to make up this race, and we will post the rescheduled date as soon as it is available.
